The Operations Intern will support the Office Manager in various projects, assist in developing systems and processes to increase the efficiency of our communications and office, and support the team's general administrative activities.

About the Position

This internship offers hands-on, substantive experience contributing to the effective operations of a growing organization. The Operations Intern will support the Office Administrator in various projects, assist in developing systems and processes to increase the efficiency of our communications and office and support the team's general administrative activities. 

 

Specific Responsibilities

  • Manage organizational emails alongside the office manager
  • Take calls and ensure messages and transfers are made to the appropriate staff member 
  • Monitor and maintain office supply inventory 
  • Provide general and safe support to visitors 
  • Assist in maintaining up-to-date and accurate data entry and 

Bookkeeping 

  • Collaborate with the grants manager to ensure accurate tracking of time and attendance for grant compliance
  • Assist the grants manager in preparing monthly and quarterly invoices.
  • Maintain an efficient filing system for invoices and disbursements 
 

Qualifications 

  • Enthusiasm, passion, and interest in the work required 
  • Desire to work with a small team and young organization that is seeking to build a best-in-class organization 
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal 
  • Exceptional attention to detail 
  • Highly organized and reliable 
  • Strong computer knowledge, including Word and Excel 

Additional Information

This is an unpaid, part-time position requiring a minimum commitment of 15 hours per week. The Operations Intern will be working at Restore’s Midtown office. The shifts can be flexible to accommodate school or work schedules. 

We are looking for someone who can start as soon as possible and would be willing to commit to a full academic year. Please let us know if these work hours can be used toward course credit, and we will support you with any required paperwork.

We will consider applicants who are mature undergraduate students, graduate students, or recently graduated undergraduates with experience or interest in anti-human trafficking, human rights, or services to exploited and vulnerable populations. 

 

Restore NYC's Internship program provides students and professionals with a rich learning experience but does not provide monetary compensation. 

 

Restore NYC is a Christian faith-based organization; interns do not have to profess the Christian faith but must respect our values. We help victims regardless of their religion, and spiritual activities are optional for every client.
