About the Position

Reporting to the Referral Manager, the Referral Coordinator will assist with incoming referrals via Restore’s referral line, help email, and website. The Referral Coordinator will provide holistic support through resource coordination and crisis intervention to survivors of human trafficking and be part of a team committed to the restoration of each survivor. The Referral Coordinator will also assist survivors of human trafficking with the connection to services. The ideal candidate for this role will be hungry, humble, and smart. They will be experienced in working with adult women or immigrants, have case management experience, knowledge of human trafficking and/or exposure to the New York criminal justice system, have experience working with trauma, and can complete administrative tasks related to daily work in a timely and professional manner. 

The position is located in New York City and is three days a week (21 hours/week), 9 am—5 pm, from June 1st to August 31st. The role will primarily be in person, with occasional remote days dependent on the need. The Referral Coordinator will be required to be in the office for mandatory staff and client meetings, depending on the need. 

Specific Responsibilities

  • Assist in taking incoming referrals into the organization, determine eligibility, and make internal referrals to program services 
  • Assist with Crisis intervention as needed
  • Assist in outreach to other service providers in the field for purposes of collaboration and cultivation of new referrals 
  • Attend stakeholder meetings with other professionals in the anti-trafficking field 
  • Assist with managing and updating client and partner organization database 
  • Conduct ongoing strengths and needs assessment, safety planning, crisis prevention plans, goal setting, and individualized service plans with survivors receiving case management 
  • Regularly review with clients the roles and responsibilities of the multiple professionals serving the survivor, including the case manager, attorney, law enforcement, etc. 
  • Provide resource coordination to other clients at Restore as needed (and with capacity), including clients at risk for trafficking 
  • Accompany clients to appointments with her attorneys, medical care, etc. as needed 
  • Complete clinical documentation in a timely manner 
  • Attend Client Services meeting and supervision on a weekly basis 
  • Attend internal and external training and service provider meetings 
  • Assist across programs as needed


  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work or within the helping professions (preferred) OR currently working on a Master’s degree within the helping professions
  • Fluency in Spanish
  • Must be within easy reach of New York City

  • Proven ability to juggle multiple tasks, efficiently manage processes, and meet deadlines 
  • Experience working with individuals impacted by trauma and working with immigrants and/or at-risk populations 
  • Training in trauma-informed care, survivor-centered practices, and culture-humility
  • Excellent relational skills and engagement with survivors 
  • Deep commitment to the healing and well-being of survivors of trafficking

Compensation & Length of Position

The salary range is $27/hr for 21 hours a week. The position is from June 1st - August 31st, 2024. 

Job Location

This job is based in New York City and is an on-site position requiring a minimum of 2 days in the Midtown office.
